Hello, my name is Mr. Streitfeld (Sta-right-feld). I am a 2002 graduate of Peninsula High School and I am a graduate of Cal State Long Beach with a BA in history, BA in music, and an MA in education. At RDM I teach various levels of English, all social studies classes other than economics, and several electives.
To many of my former student’s surprise, I actually have a life outside of school. I am married to my beautiful wife, we have two cats but no kids. I enjoy traveling and encountering new cultures. I enjoy sports such as baseball, basketball, and football. I am a diehard Dodger fan and go to many games each season. I enjoy music as a way to relax and have fun. I have been playing the saxophone since I attended Miraleste Int. (though not as much lately) and used to occasionally perform. The genres of music that I like are varied. I like classic rock, jazz, reggae, ska, alternative, R&B, 90's Rap, and funk. The last thing I really like is food. I like to cook it, eat it, and have other people make it for me. Give me a big steak or some pasta, and I will be just fine. Do not try to bribe me with food either.
Now as a teacher I believe that I work for you guys and in turn, you work for me. My goal is for you to work every day and continue working towards receiving a diploma. I want you to enjoy your educational experience here at our school. My expectation is that you will come to learn and treat every person in our class with respect and become a better person.
