SAGE Presentation

On, November 13th and November 18th, the RDM school counselor and Counseling and Support Services for Youth (SAGE) Therapist will present a lesson to all students during their 4th period class. The presentation will present a series of typical teenage situations and then facilitate discussions to help students in decision making. Additionally, students will be provided pertinent information, statistics, and where they can turn to get help. Under Education Code Section 215 and Assembly Bill 2246, PVPUSD is required to educate students on suicide prevention and related topics. The presentation will cover the following topics:

* Stress * Safe Dating
* Depression *Suicide
* Peer Pressure *Drug and Alcohol Use
*Transgender Issues

We acknowledge these topics are sensitive, but are truly representative of the high school experience. We expect all students to be present for this lesson unless you do not want them to participate. If you are NOT comfortable with your student participating in the presentation, please sign the form below and have your student bring the signed opt-out form to the counselor on or before the day of the presentations, November 13th and 18th.

Skechers 2019 Friendship Walk

Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk
Sunday, October 27th

When the Palos Verdes Peninsula community comes together to help raise money for the Peninsula Education Foundation (PEF), a small donation from an individual turns into a major fundraiser for PEF. The annual Skechers Walk is Sunday morning, October 27th. The registration fee is $30 per walker. It is the number of walkers that counts - you can register your entire family AND your dog. Any "thing" (person, animal) can register. You don't even have to show up on 10/27 (although we'd love to have you!) -- you can sign up to walk virtually and stay in your pajamas and think about all the good you've done!

What goes to PEF? Skechers gives back the entire $30 registration fee PLUS a calculated amount of the sponsorship money. Last year, 4,000 PVPUSD walkers generated $240,000 for PEF!
