Practice ACT / SAT Test

PVPHS CCC is offering a practice SAT / ACT exam this Saturday, January 25th. Students can sign up at the PVPHS CCC now through Friday January 24th at 1:00 pm. These practice tests do not count in any way, but offer the students an opportunity to simulate the testing environment. A donation of $20 is appreciated. Students report to the CCC at 8:40am and finish at approximately 1:00pm

Peninsula High School 2020 Winter Formal- Fast and Furious

Winter Formal is a semi-formal dance for ALL grade-levels- 9th graders through 12th graders.



$105 with ASB and $110 without ASB- if purchased between Thursday, January 16 and Friday, January 24

$110 with ASB and $115 without ASB- if purchased on Monday, January 27 or Tuesday, January 28.

Last day to purchase tickets- Tuesday, January 28



Price of ticket includes food, dancing, various activities, and exclusive use of the Petersen Automotive museum.



All students who attend the Winter Formal must complete the Permission Slip/Contract/Transportation Agreement.

PV Juniors Scholarship

This year, we will be awarding two $5,000 scholarships. The deadline for the applications is February 28, 2020. Applications can be downloaded from our website: https://www.pvjuniors.org/scholarships. 



Scholarships are awarded to deserving local high school seniors entering their first year at a college or university.  Consideration is based on financial need, academic achievement, community service, and extracurricular activities.

All applicant information is confidential.  Once your application has been reviewed, we will contact you.  Finalists will be required to attend a personal interview.  Please review the requirements carefully and be sure that all parts of your application are complete, as incomplete, disorderly or late applications will not be considered.

Completed applications must be returned to your school's college career center (CCC) or school counselor if your school does not have a CCC by Friday, February 28th, 2020. Scholarship interviews to be held Saturday, April 18th, 2020.

NCL Peninsula Chapter Scholarship Information

Thank you for your interest in applying for a financial aid scholarship through the Peninsula Chapter of National Charity League for the academic year 2020-2021. Selection criteria include financial need, academic performance and potential (minimum GPA of 3.0), extra-curricular and community service activities, and work experience. Our scholarship awards range from $1,000 to 3,000 per year and may be renewed all four years if a student remains eligible as a full time student.

The deadline for completed applications to be emailed or returned to your guidance counselor’s office is Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Please include the Application Checklist attached to this letter. An electronic version of this letter and application may be requested from your guidance counselor. If you would like to fill out the application and checklist using Adobe* & submit your application electronically (preferred), email checklist and application to scholarship.ncl.peninsula@gmail.com . You may turn in copy of your transcript in a sealed envelope to your guidance counselor or mail to P.O. Box listed below. Any other supporting documentation & attachments may be scanned and emailed, or you may turn them in to your guidance counselor.

Interviews for finalists will be held on Saturday April 18th, 2020. An interview is mandatory for consideration for this scholarship. Students selected as finalists may be asked to provide additional financial information.

All financial information is strictly confidential.

If awarded, Scholarship funds will be paid directly to your school. Scholarship funds are designated for tuition, textbooks, and/or on-campus housing only.

LAFCU Jack C. Matthew Scholarship

LAFCU is offering 6 scholarships for $2000 each for high school students to plan to attend college or vocational school in the fall of 2020. Please click the link to get the application. The deadline to apply is April 30 with the winners contacted by May 22

PEF Scholarship Information

Peninsula Education Foundation will award two $1,500 scholarships to students in the graduating class of 2020 who are continuing their education at the post-secondary level. Applicants must be currently enrolled in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District and must have maintained enrollment for two years prior to graduation. Students of PEF employees or current Board of Trustee members are not eligible to apply.

BEFORE preparing your application, please be sure to read all APPLICATION GUIDELINES below:

Only applications submitted through the online application will be considered. (See application link below.)
Prepare your essay in a separate Word document. The online application does not allow you to save your work.
Cut and paste your essay into the application.
Late submissions and incomplete applications will not be considered.
Signed permission is required for students under the age of 18.
Photo release and permission to use finalists’ essays in PEF marketing materials is required.
Please verify all information is complete and correct. Once you have submitted your application, changes cannot be made.
Application deadline is February 28, 2020 at 11:59 pm.

Finalists will be determined by the scholarship committee as appointed by the Board of Trustees of the Peninsula Education Foundation. Winners will be featured in PEF’S Community Report, acknowledged on PEF’s website and social media, and will be awarded a special certificate and check at their high school’s Honors and Awards Night.
