SAGE Presentation

On, November 13th and November 18th, the RDM school counselor and Counseling and Support Services for Youth (SAGE) Therapist will present a lesson to all students during their 4th period class. The presentation will present a series of typical teenage situations and then facilitate discussions to help students in decision making. Additionally, students will be provided pertinent information, statistics, and where they can turn to get help. Under Education Code Section 215 and Assembly Bill 2246, PVPUSD is required to educate students on suicide prevention and related topics. The presentation will cover the following topics:

* Stress * Safe Dating
* Depression *Suicide
* Peer Pressure *Drug and Alcohol Use
*Transgender Issues

We acknowledge these topics are sensitive, but are truly representative of the high school experience. We expect all students to be present for this lesson unless you do not want them to participate. If you are NOT comfortable with your student participating in the presentation, please sign the form below and have your student bring the signed opt-out form to the counselor on or before the day of the presentations, November 13th and 18th.

PVPUSD Families Connected

Welcome to the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District's youth wellness page, PVPUSD Families Connected. This resource was created for our community by South Bay Families Connected (SBFC). We hope the resources, videos, and educational material provided on this website page will support our parents, teachers, and staff as we work together in our shared vision of empowering all students to achieve and thrive. Additionally, this project aligns with our District goals of promoting healthy environments for students, maximizing the full potential of all students, and emphasizing social and emotional well-being. The ultimate goal is for us to work together to help our youth thrive and stay on a healthy path to maturity.
